The
first of Bond's enemies, Joseph Wiseman made Dr. No a sinister and thoughtful
villain, very faithful to his counterpart in the Fleming novel. Although cloaked
in secrecy, his ruthlessness and cold calculation early in the film make his
quiet and well mannered appearance all the more intimidating.

Professor
DentA geologist deeply
entangled in Dr. No's sinister plan to disrupt the superpowers' missile
launching programmes, Professor Dent (played by Anthony Dawson) attempts to
mislead 007 in his search for the secret behind Crab Key. He tries to stop
Bond's interference at first with a tarantula, then an attempted assassination
where his six shot Smith and Wesson just isn't enough.
